I used an LT T56. It will bolt right up to the SBC cheaper than a LS will.


You need a special flywheel and the stock clutch kit. I used this flywheel...
Flywheel - CKGM-20010 $169 from American Powertrain.

Use a slave cylinder from a 1990 comaro. cheaper and better than stock, with the same stroke and bore size. I used a wilwood master cylinder, 260-3376. I followed the hydraulic clutch write up that I think TR did.

A stock auto-trans mount will work if your motor is in the V8 location.
