You can bump the HP and torque with a new cam. Visit this site:

The 500 is lighter than a 454! Do everything you need to do do the driverside valve cover. Once the engine is installed, you can't remove it. You may have to grind the brake boost a tad for clearance. Advance adaptors has a transmission adaptor.
