Re: Fix and Sale 72 GMC 3/4 ton 4x4 K2500
Finished the first of getting bedside ready for paint. Wrapped up knocking down any rock chips and areas that I did any metal work on with 220 grit wet n dry paper. Then finished off with a little "Tec" etch primer to any of the bare metal areas. Now moving on to the next phase with shooting some filler primer over the entire bedside. Knock that down with a long dura-block with wet and dry paper, wipe down with wax and grease cleaner. Finally shoot some color left over from doing the rockers and bottom of the doors.
Its not perfect by any means, however it is much better than the old bedside that was crunched and had areas that the metal actually ripped by the stake pockets. I would call it driver quality, there is probably a few small areas that are not perfect.
My intentions are to fix the items that I could fix and sell the truck. I had three items that I wanted to finish before selling, replace the seat cover again, four new 235/85r16 tires on order now and painting the bedside and front fender. Getting the painting over with this weekend will leave the other two items to do then sell it and on to the next 4x4 project.
