Nothing is going to drop in with 300hp and stock TBI unless he carbs it. You'll need an engine that's designed to put out 300+, a chip, and probably a new regulator spring and fuel pump.
The closest you'll find is the 383 that GM makes as a TBI replacement, but I believe that still needs at least a chip.
