I would think that the original trim (moulding) would be a salt trap. Now I don't plan on driving my truck in winter but......I like to overplan everything in my life.
I do like pin stripes on cars....
Original moulding comes up for sale on the boards and there are fenders/doors with the holes in them for sale also. I wouldn't be comfortable drilling my own holes either.
