Educate yourself and find there are alternatives to leave dash unchopped while gaining great sounds. There are modern electronics conversions for factory radios that gain you a 180w stereo with ports & controls for XM/Sirius, MP3, & CD remote units. This costs more than a couple few hundred so, if it's a matter of economics, chop it and forget about the lost resale value or the cost of repairing till later.
