3" drop spring are going to really limit the amount of travel left in the suspension and mess with your alignment. My not be able to get it lined up properly. Spindles make a lot more sense and then cut a little bit off the springs if you trying to save money.
With a 5" drop in the rear your are going to need a spring notch. Even with a notch I still bottom out on hard bumps sometimes. Without it would be constantly hitting the frame/bump stops.
