If you haven't driven it much yet, keep the 2 barrel for now and get some miles on it. The results of your drives may suggest other priorities for your money and time.

If the two barrel is in good shape, nothing wrong with running it for a while.

Make sure your timing is set proper. If it still has the points distributor, consider an HEI and also swap plugs to take advantage of the .045 gap HEI wants.
