Yes it is, 4wd will all start with KE or KS, 10 is 1/2 ton, E is for eight cylinder and S is for six cylinderLocation: On plate attached to the rear face of left-hand door hinge pillar and on right side of cowl under hood.


First Symbol - Type
C = Conventional Cab G = Chevy Van
K = 4x4 P = Forward Control
Z = Motorhome

Second Symbol - Type of Engine
S = Six T = Diesel
E = Eight

Third Symbol - Gross Volume Weight (GVW)
1 = 3,900 - 5,800 lbs 3 = 6,600 - 1,000 lbs
2 = 5,200 - 7,500 lbs

Fourth & Fifth Symbol - Cab to Axle Dimension
05 = 30-35 in. 10 = 60-65 in.
07 = 42-47 in. 14 = 84-89 in.
09 = 54-59 in.

Sixth & Seventh Symbol - Body Type
02 = Chassis & Cowl 32 = Motorhome Chassis
03 = Chassis & Cab 34 = Fleetside
04 = Step-Side Pickup 35 = Forward Control (Steel Step Van)
05 = Panel Van 36 = Beauville Van
06 = Suburban (doors) or Sportvan 42 = Forward Control Chassis
