I'm sure you get enough of the arm chair engineers and our ideas but here goes anyway. What would happen if you made the lower shock brackets "flipped" over to reduce scrub line issues? Most of your design work is done it would mean extending the shock mount hole out to clear the trailing arm and if it was just a little wider the part that currently hangs down would be flush up against the lower edge of the trailing arm. Let me know what you think.

Just my armchair quarterback opinion, you will loose travel on the shock, I think that was why he chose this location and the angle of the shock would change......JMO Kieth
