There should be a ballast resistor wire that limits the voltage to about 9 volts. 12v into the coil damages the condenser and points. If there is still no spark after all parts are replaced correctly then the distributor is internally grounding somehow. Then you swap out the distributor for another. You need to get a service manual that guides you through trouble shoots. Or do more research online. There is another site you can also post for help. Jollys gmc guy site
