In California, all vehicles have to be smog checked and can't be modified on the fuel system. Back several years ago, diesels were exempt. I was down at the big speed shop, P.A.W. and there was a RATTY old Chevy truck with 6.2 diesel emblems on the fender. It looked really tired. The thing that drew my attention was that it had very nice rims and tires.
i looked under the back end for any clues.
It had a Halibrand quick-change differential. I could only imagine what it had under the hood. Being a diesel, it didn't have to go through smog check.
