that would work on a column without the shift mechanism in it, but for one with a shift mechanism you would be dismantling the column every time you needed it out.

I did a column shift like yours matt and used that same mount you are thinking of. using the stock mount plate would have needed the piece of donor firewall too, its not a flat mount. you CAN weld any time of flat mount you want to it though. remember to keep the firewall hole big enough to let the linkage come through.
