Hmmm. I alerted "Open road" to this directly via email just now, he'd contacted me through the address I have at blazerchalet.com about what was meant by 'factory camper', so I gave him detailed info on the differences between the aftermarket campers and the '76-'77 GM factory popups, which technically were 'sorta-factory' since Chinook had set of some kind of assembly place near or in Flint when they were putting together the Chalets and Casa Grandes.
I do hope to get more info on that someday, the history of the GM factory ones is awfully sketchy. Chinook was an entertaining place over its lifespan, as can be seen in this history:
