Thanks guys! There definitely is a learning curve, but its well worth the struggle. I heeded your advice and spent a little more time grinding back rust so I had more good metal to work with. I think it helped my welds out a lot. I appreciate the input! Here's how it ended up...good enough for what I'm using the truck for.
