If you aren't doing anything but poking around the mall and maybe cruising the beach, 2 1/2" will work with 35's and an 8" rim. But if you expect to use it anywhere you might twist it up, you need 4" for 35's. And really a 10" rim to maximize clearance to the springs and the tub.

But those front blocks need to go as the others mentioned. We are getting ready to start a Jimmy for my teenager, and I was able to get 4" springs all around with free shipping so we are building around those and will most likely run 35's to fill the wheel well.

It was going to cost almost twice as much to go with 2 1/2" springs, so 4" it is.
