This harness is for the Electronic Spark Control HEI distributor on a 305, or perhaps other engines too. The connector in your hand goes to the coil (it's B+ I think), and the 4-way Weatherpak connector in the background goes to a connector coming out of the distributor for the ignition module.

This is a test connector that is normally disconnected. I can not recall exactly how it's used, but it has something to do with the lockup torque converter, probably to visually see when it engages via a test light or something.
