It's called living in California. They tax gas here like nobody's business It's about $5.30 for 87 where I live too. I believe that there is about a $2.00 a gallon tax. Something like that.
Subtract the tax and we're at $3.30 give or take.
I put 40 bucks of 91 in my little Porsche the other day. It's a very small car. You would think that would make a dent in it. Nope. 1/4 tank difference.
Pretty soon it'll take 50 bucks to fill up your lawnmower. But not in California because they just banned gas mowers. You can't make this stuff up folks. I live it every day.
