Gregg,Actually the spring maters, and the block doesn't. The shock and spring both attatch to the trailing arm, so thats what matters. The block, if used, spaces the axle away from the trailing arm, but doesn't change the relationship of spring, arm, shock and frame. I would lean toward a 3" spring and a 2" block. As crazy as it sounds, the 'A' shoch measures 14" closed, and 23" open, thats nine inches of travel. The doetsch shock you have is 10" to 15.25", so 5 1/4" of travel. Also, the doetsch nitro is a firm/x-firm shock, but it needs to be due to the short travel avail. Hope all that helps.
