At worse case you will gain a few squeaks and rattles that you didn't have before. They do take some of the stress off the radiator or it does put a bit more on it when they are gone.

On the other hand we don't tend to drive our fixed up trucks over the rough roads and trails or fields that were the norm for them in their fist life. They may not be as necessary as the trucks probably don't get treated the way they did back then.
