L83 is what’s in the 2014 up trucks. I haven’t heard of any issue with those. I don’t know what’s wrong with an aluminum block unless it’s real high mileage, worn out, or you’re wanting to bore it and put a lot of boost to it. I think you’ll be happy with the l83. Get the harness and ecm, too. I don’t know what your transmission options/limitations are with the new motors. You may want to research that.

I'll have to figure out power steering pump those use electric but all the older engines I've found need rebuilt only motor work I'd do Is cam maybe port and polish heads nothing crazy I just read you can gain 100hp doing that
