Shortbeds are heavier than they look, but three of us managed it.
One end of the broken spring, the other end is completely snapped off. Maybe from overloading? I've towed a few times at 10k+ gross weight; factory rating is 6500 gross.
Picking up 8/1 HD springs at a local spring shop for 265 each.
