With the 2/4 servo assembly removed this will make it a bit easier to remove the reverse input drum and the input shaft as one piece. Take a screw driver and push the 2/4 band off the anchor pin holding the band around the reverse input drum. Pull out the two drums mentioned above (during this activity make sure the trans is sitting on the bench with the VB facing up, this helps with accessing the anchor pin area)
Remove the 2/4 band out of the trans case
At this point you will have access to the snap ring holding the front planet to the output shaft.
With a good set of snap ring pliers remove the snap ring holding the front planet onto the output shaft.
Pull the front planet off the output shaft....

At this point you can pull the output shaft out the back of the trans case.
