Sorry to cause confusion by adding the "r", I still seem to have VW tires on the brain as I was used to ordering the 165r15 back in the day. I actually do like the 255s you posted and will probably go with a radial in the end since the 9.00-16s look like they need the lift to fit on my 72. As you mentioned as I get older the big lifts/tires dont seem as appealing as they did when my back and knees were younger.

I will probably end up with a set of the 7.50-16 power king super tracktion "meat grinders" on the rear of my 65 Carryall to compliment the posi and help with highway rpm.

Im sure I will run the 9.00-16s on my 59 Dept of Labor long bed Chevy as they look like they will fit with no mods.
