It's odd because it doesn't look like wear... it looks machined. I'm not too hurt about it as I have to buy new axles anyway so I can stick with the 6 lug setup. It has a open diff with 2.78 gears so all that has to go as well, I just didn't know if it was supposed to be like that.

I got a good deal on it, and the car units have a beefier pinion, and generally more parts available. It's not a huge deal the overall length is 1" shorter than the truck setup, but with the disc brakes it will even out to be the same as the factory drums.

I'll hit it with a scotch brite tomorrow and see if I can spot any scaring.
