Yes - it's a vehicle tear down, for comparison purposes (both engineering learnings and marketing use).

I don't know what location they would have used back then; probably the shops at Chevrolet Central Office.

We still do that. Today we do it south of 12 Mile Rd in a portion of the Pre-production build facility called the GM Knowledge Center.
