my 1990 had the same issue. so i figured it was something with the circuit board because if i pulled on the plastic parts it would usually start working fine. so about 5-6 years ago i shoved a bolt between the plastic part of the motor and the firewall... worked fine ever since
i do have a back up one though that came out of a 1991 (hopefully its the same) if it ever goes out but so far that temp fix has held out
