Here's mine for reference. 4-5(?)" drop in the front. Not sure really. I think I cut 1.75 coils off. The rear is 8" using 2" blocks and 6" springs.
No notch yet. You can see how close the axle is to the frame. The truck isn't officially on the road yet, but I've had it on some back roads around 30mph or so with no issue. The springs are fairly firm so I *think* I'll be ok. I have no delusions about hauling anything or being able to play Luke Duke, but that's not what this truck is for.
