That’s where you want it.
While you have the cap off, check shaft wear by lifting up/down on the rotor. Shouldn’t move much. If it does it could be part of your rough running.
When I check for #1 tdc compression I use my compression gauge. That way I’ll see whether it’s on compression or not.
