Proper diagnostic procedure is to test to find the fault, before throwing parts (and $) at it in hopes you get lucky.

Doesn't nessesarly (sp?) mean it's bad. On the other hand, just because you just put it on 6 months ago, or just put it on today, does not mean it
can't be bad
now. Sometimes they don't last, sometimes they're bad right out of the box. Test, test, test.
