The way MartinSr said to do it is the right way. You may want the front end of the truck raised up pretty good for clearance though.

Unless it is a worn out junk box I wouldn't take it apart or cut the column and shaft to get it out. The lazy guys cut the shaft and ruin the box for anyone else who might need it. I've even seen a few rolling chassis for sale with the column cut off because the guy who took it apart was too lazy to do it right.
