Patch panels, Flangers, and Ghost lines....

OK, you've probably heard many of us caution about the pitfalls of using a flanging tool for a lapped seam instead of the preferred butt weld, but never had any visible proof of the ghost line. Here's a short video that does indeed show it. The owner did a fabulous job in restoring this car many years ago when panels weren't available, and yes, much of the quarter panels and rear cargo area is all hand fabricated. He admitted he used a flanger on the patch panel repairing the bottom of the tailgate, and gave me permission to show this that others may see what can and will happen with that type of repair..
