Thanks for the replies, I might cut open the door side of the pillar and see if I can cut in a plate of some kind. Not sure when I will get to it but I will post pics if I go ahead.

Has anyone used the height adjustable mounts from a newer vehicle? I might check out the junkyard and see what they look like and if it's possible.....
