So did you just weld the evaporator bracket to the inside of the firewall instead of using the bolts?
I actually put the bolts through the holes (had it installed before) and just tack welded them on the inside, leaving enough room on the engine side to cut the head off the bolt. I then ground off the remaining bolt so it was flush with the firewall and welded up the gaps around it. I hope that makes sense. The bracket had one threaded hole that I drilled out, the other already used a nut on the cab side, so I just used a nut on both bolts from the inside. It was a PITA to get them in.
