All of the aftermarket lift kits only have 2 for the front. Are the aftermarket shocks good enough to use only 1 per side when the factory used 2? Or, would I need to get an extra set of the aftermarket shocks to replace the other 2?
I am looking at a 2in lift, no more than 35in tires and using it for more Overlanding than 4 wheeling.
My 81 had the factory quad shock option and when I first got it, the truck had 4 rancho 5000 shocks on the front and the ride was AWFUL. Used to ride so bad the stereo would shut off on big bumps I bought the procomp mx6 adjustable shocks and went with the single setup in the front and it rides so much better. The shock technology has come a long way since the 80's just get a quality shock like the mx6's or bilsteins.
