Today I got the compact solenoid in the mail. I dumped some oil in the gear and transfer. And did the bench test. Worked great. I spent the extra bucks and got the round case with the solenoid, and it looks like I may be able to mount it on the side of the gear case. I will mount the winch before I dissemble it. So I can get an idea of what's going on. Here's some pics of the bench testing and the compact solenoid case.
