Now that's some interesting bodywork! But hey... it's gets you where it needs to be!... little filler and you're done!

Wouldn't worry about the rust stuff... sounds all pretty standard. I redid my box sides and front as well... couple sheets of 16 gauge cold rolled and a 20' length of 1 5/8" - 16ga tubing... a little cutting, a couple bends and you're done... and not for the $1000 bux all the big shops want for them! I've only got a light skim coat of filler over the welded area and you'd never know, except no stake pocket holes...
