So to finish this up. With vettevets input and 67burbs call to me in the states we now have a working circuit. If you look at the diagram in post 20 I have it hooked up like that but instead of deleting the wire crossed out in the diagram I went ahead and did use it. Works perfectly! Thanks to vettevet and 67burb for helping me on this. This is why our board here is so great!
Now to start my alternator thread
