Their was actually three traction aid codes
G80 was a limited slip that used spring loaded multiple disc clutches attached to both axles. This type is rebuildable and allows some slippage between left and right tires.
G86 was a "lunch box" locker used in the heavy duty 3/4 ton and up Eaton axle. When locked there is no difference in speed between left and right axles.
G87 was a clutch style with a leveraged differential pin (power loc?) used in heavy duty Dana axles. The more torque applied the tighter this axle holds both axles together.
