Talking Pontiac was the secret weapon

Well, the Pontiac motors were the powerplants of GMC trucks. As GMC did not have an engine of thier own. Remember the controversy over the Chevy engines they were installing in Pontiacs and Olds and Buicks back in the 70's. I always figured that the BOP companies were part of GM so what was the big deal?

But some people got pretty worked up over deal that back then!

As far as the 55-59 GMC pickups with the Pontiac V-8's it was the "HOT" item back than... And a lot of GMC's were sold over Chevy because they had the big cubes under the hood!

Consider your self one of the Hot Rodders of the 55-59 Pick up gang!

I love the article on the GMC "Palomino" that Dave Cunningham has a link to on his web site. That is one BEAUTIFUL GMC Carrier!

My two and 1/2 cents worth.... rico_bob
