ok.. the post # 5 is for canadian trucks only.
if your frame is a 60-66 there should be the vin by the left front A arm, and under the cab on the lh side...
if the frame is a later one, there still should be a vin under the cab on the drivers side... that was pretty much a standard for gm frames, and I have seen quite a few different frames with a vin there.
