I went through the trouble to make it fit back in there on top of brake assembly. I would use it if you have room. the firewall flexes pretty good with the brake pedal on it, you dont really see it move till you are pumping the brakes to bleed them, then holy moly. when I build a brake bracket I always tie it to that brace you are talking about.
