Not required here,but I have them anyway.
I was once driving down I-10 and there was a dump truck way up ahead.
I thought I was far enough behind to not be hit with anything when a chunk of wood came out of the rear wheels and broke my windshield!
It did have mudflaps too!
Probably why they have those signs that say "stay back 300 feet"!
