Re: Drum Brake Issues

If you will entertain me for a moment. Drum brakes are a different animal, altogether. These vehicles where built in an era with a focus on maintenance.

Drum brakes like to be cleaned, no rust on the components and all areas functioning properly.

Just getting around to my 3rd complete brake job, booster to every spring an pin. 150K on it since my inception. I can tell you this complete visual inspection is where I would start.

You can reuse springs and some other stuff, other parts that are not available. If you go all new it......will.........stop on a dime.

Even got my parking brake fully functioning, waiting for a little stretch in the cables. I have it set to stop the vehicle in gear from the park position.
