I managed to get the MC installed this weekend and took the truck for a 350km round trip. Everything seems to be working great and the truck now has a much better pedal feel.
Getting the truck to stop well has never been an issue. The trucks stops amazing for having all 4 drums and I can lock the wheels if needed.
I thought the booster was NFG like mentioned above but after going through it, it seems to be fine. When I upgrade to discs, I may take that opportunity to replace it though with something a bit better.
You can see in the picture below the piston I was referring to that was stuck in the back of the master.
After some forceful persuasion I managed to get it out of the old master and checked fitment of the pin end in the new master. Added a touch of grease just to be sure and re-installed.
I took this opportunity to redo a couple of the brake lines and and clean up the booster/master.
