Is it just a random on-off-on-off, with no regular pattern? Does it happen only when the light switch is on? Without more info, I'd guess a bad headlight switch. You might have to remove the switch to access it to test it with a test light or basic VOM. It might also be a loose-fitting connector on the headlight switch.
