The OP here, I thought that the 67-72 switch may be a good solution, but then you get into different keys for doors and ignition.

A while back I bought the AAW classic update harness for my build.
I haven't actually looked at the ignition switch but it shows an accessory position and circuit in the schematics. Expect to be working on my wiring soon, will advise further.
