If the rods were resized, the caps must go back onto the rod that they were on when resized. When you disassembled the engine, the proper thing to do is stamp a number in both the rod and the cap indicating which cylinder it came from. The left side (drivers) is 1-3-5-7. the right side Passenger) is 2-4-6-8.
