Back in post 120 you showed your frame dimpled for the power steering box. I searched the general information threads for a step-by-step, or helpful hints, on doing this with no luck. It appears you did the "cut out the flat part and weld in a pipe" method. Is that right? That method seems pretty straightforward.

If I do the "heat it up and hammer it in" method, is there any reason to worry about the area around the bolt holes moving? Do you think it's necessary to bolt up a plate inside the frame temporarily to hold that part flat?

EDIT: Now that I've looked at that pic again--it appears you slit the top and bent the side in (in other words, did not weld in a curved piece). Is there no need to slit frame where the bottom of the "dimple" is?
