This is true. I had no luck finding the flex plate I needed so I had to ream all the holes to 1/2" and drill the extra hole. I have a thread about it somewhere, but I can't find it just now. I needed the bigger flex plate, the 162 (?) tooth to fit my starter. I don't know if all the 292 blocks are the same, but mine has 2 starter bolt holes that are vertical. I had to get a starter shop to order a new nose to fit the block. It's been a while so I don't really remember all the reasons, it may have had something to do with using a 200r transmission. It's been frustrating because none of this stuff is meant to go together but I'm hardheaded and it's gonna work. Eventually.
